Prescribing Policy. The Georgia Composite Medical Board recently voted to continue to follow DEA rules for prescribing controlled substances via telemedicine. DEA and HHS are reviewing whether to maintain a pandemic-era exception for a practitioner to prescribe controlled medications via telemedicine without an in-person patient evaluation, provided certain conditions are met.  The Board’s recent vote reversed its earlier decision to reinstate the more restrictive prescribing policy.  Adam Law advises providers on compliance with state and federal telemedicine requirements.
